In 2009 English and Creative Writing classes taught by Professor Toni Eastwood began at the La Verne Community Center. As some of the students advanced, a small group of serious writers emerged, and one of the classes was turned into a writers’ workshop where these students honed their skills and began to publish their own work.
In 2013, this group decided to host their first Afternoon With Your Local Authors event, and the La Verne Writers’ Group was born.
Although we are a small group, we host our annual authors’ event as well as an annual local high school writing contest.
